Dilgeş with kidney disease can not take his medicine in prison 2020-05-25 20:11:05     DİYARBAKIR- 3,5 year old Dilgeş Aslan, who was imprisoned with his mother Gönül Aslan, can not take his medicine that he needs to take due to his renal failure as the prison imfirmary is closed. The clothes taken for Dilgeş were not allowed in the prison as well.   Dilgeş's mother is one of the twelve Kurdish activists and politicians who were arrested in Diyarbakir as part of the lawsuit against Rosa Women's Association. Dilgeş was sent to Diyarbakır Women's Closed Prison with his mother, but the 3,5 years-old boy can not take his kidney medicine because of the fact that the prison infirmary is closed due to the Eid. As there is no one to take care of the infirmary in the prison due to the Eid holiday, Dilgeş will not be able to take his medicine until Wednesday.    It was reported that Dilgeş, who was sent to the prison with his mother at a moment's notice, had thin clothes and he suffers from seizure due to the cold inside the prison, where no sun light gets in.    HE NEEDS A KIDNEY TEST   Mother Aslan, whom the lawyers of Rosa Women's Association visited in the prison, shared the following information: "Dilgeş suffers from a kidney disease, he suffers from renal failure. We were supposed to take him to the control, but due to the pandemic we were not able to do so. He need Voiding Sistography. We were going to take him to another hospital after the Eid and he needed to start another drug treatment. Therefore he needed another kidney test. One part of my mind worries about Dilgeş, as the other part worries about my kids in the home. Some guardians gace Dilgeş toy cars and baloons."   THE PRISON IS TOO COLD   Mother of Dilgeş, Aslan continued to tell the conditions in the Diyarbakır Women's Closed Prison as follows: "Dilgeş knows another friend of mine, who stay in another ward, so he always wants to got there. However, the authorities we were able to talk that the organization of the wards have just been settled and there is not officers, who has the authority to change the wards. Dilgeş needs to be released from the prison immediately. We were not able to get any additional clothes when we were being taken to the prison. Friends here gave their shirts so that Dilgeş would not be cold. Now we have to stay in quarantine for 14 days. Since the wards we stay have not been used until after a short while they are too cold and we are all cold. We try to heat ourselves with the sheets. Dilgeş has no idea that he is in prison unless he speaks to the guardians. He wants to go to another place in the prison and when they do not allow him, he feels bad. He keeps asking why he can not go to the other wards.  He is aware of the fact that he is not able to do what he desires to do and he is not able to get out."   14 DAYS OF QUARANTINE WITHIN THE PRISON   Aslan shared her concerns related to her son as follows: "At least we are 4 people now, who take care of Dilgeş. However, if we are able to go to an hospital to run the necessary tests for his kidney disease, we will be quarantined in the prison when we get back. This will be very hard on us, because Dilgeş is now, at least, spending some time with other 3 women, but when we are left alone in quarantine, he will be affected negatively."   HIS CLOTHES WERE NOT LET INSIDE   The lawyers of the Rosa Women's Association stated that the clothes they brought to the prison last night for Dilgeş were not let in: "There is a child with kidney disease, expsoed to cold. The infirmary will open on Wednesday. Dilgeş needs a new treatment for sure and the test he needs is not able to be carried in prison. Dilgeş must be released with his mother immediately.   HIS LIFE IS IN DANGER   The lawyer of Gönül Aslan, Berdan Acun told that they would appeal to the decision of imprisonment only after the Eid holiday, on Wednesday. Acun emphasized that, the life of Dilgeş, who suffers from renal failure, is in danger under the prison conditions.
