Apê Musa is 100 years-old! 2020-05-25 17:10:54   NEWS CENTER - Journalist and author Hüseyin Aykol told that "The ones, who think that they killed him in 1992 are wrong. In all the news published by the Kurdish media, in all the steps Kurdish people take, Apê Musa lives with his philosophical soul and his ideals" regarding the 100th birthday of Musa Anter.   One of the giants of Kurdish people and Kurdish media Musa Anter (Apê Musa) is 100 years old. One of the the dauntless pens of Kurdish free media Hüseyin Aykol wrote about Musa Anter, who was killed in Diyarbakır in 1992. In the Yeni Yaşam newspaper, which celebrate its 2nd anniversary today, Aykol wrote about Musa Anter in his column titled "Apê Musa 100 Yaşında!".   Hüseyin Aykol wrote in his column as follows:   " If one tells, 'Count a few more names after the Bedirxan Family, the founders of the Kurdish press', the first person that comes to mind is probably Musa Anter. Apê Musa represents the second generation of Kurdish media almost alone by himself. We are thousands of people trying to fill the third generation and thus the place of Musa Anter. As thousands of journalists, we are working day and night to fill the place left from Apê Musa at the expense of our lives.   I guess 2020 will not be recalled so positively. It will be remembered with fear as a year in which a microscopic virus trembles humanity under capitalism. However, it is a happy year for us, the workers of the Kurdish press and the Kurdish people for sure; because this year, is the year Apê Musa turned 100! Whoever tells you, Musa Anter was killed in 1992; It's a lie, it's a big lie! Apê Musa is alive and Apê Musa is 100 years old this year...   I consider myself very lucky as a journalist and a person. Because during these last 30 years I have took part in the Free Media Tradition, I have walked side by side, on the left side with the Kurdish people who have at least a 100 years of national and social development. I met and interviewed Kurdish, Arab and even Hebrew leaders, including Abdullah Öcalan, Celal Talabani, Cemil Bayık, Mahmut Abbas, Duran Kalkan, Sami Abdurrahman, Murat Karayılan, who rewrote the history of the Middle East. I do not even count the European Union and NATO cummits I have followed.   TO BE THE CHIEF-EDITOR OF APÊ MUSA   However, the most unique experience in my life story as journalist shall be when I was the chief-editor of Apê Musa! In the first half of the 1990s, I was the chief-editor of a journalist, of an author and to be honest, of a philosopher, who was in the top of his literary and politicla maturity. Apê Musa began writing his beautiful articles when I was the chief-editor of Yeni Ülke (New Country) newspaper. The irony was never lack of his articles.    Those times, we had no internet at all, actually we did not even have a properly working fax-machine. We would wait for the friend, whom we sent to pick up from his home in Suadiye his articles, which he almost finished in the last minutes to cover up all the hot political agenda. Apê Musa would always organize a table for the friend we sent, he made him eat and drink ll he got and he would chat with him on those moments, when we were always on the pins and needles to ruh the Yeni Ülke to the print...   Apê Musa is 100 years old! We should and we will celebrate his 100th birthday majestically! We expect the contributions of all Kurdish institutions regarding that! Stage plays, panels, books; so anything and everything to commemorate him. Coronavirus pandemy has tied our hands till now, but now we have no excuse."
