The students under quarantine will be sent home with no test! 2020-04-05 19:06:33   MERSİN- Students who were brought from Cyprus by a cargo ship and quarantined in Mersin stated that they would be sent to their homes without a coronavirus test.   395 students studying at the European University of Lefke in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) were taken from the dormitories where they stayed due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak on March 23, and were brought to Mersin by a cargo ship. The students were then put under quarantine in the Kırkkaşık Girls Dormitory belonging to tha state's Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK).   'THEY HAVE NEVER TESTED US'   It is stated that the quarantine will end tomorrow. However the students talked to our agency and stated they they will be sent to their homes without going into no coronavirus test. 395 students and many truck drivers are under quarantine in the same dormitory building as by the March 23 may other students have also arrived, said the students and noted, " They said only the suspected ones will be tested, but no student has never tested yet".   'THIS IS A ROBBERY'   Mersin Governor, Provincial Directorate of Health, KYK and Ministry of Interior- Disaster and Emergency Directorate (AFAD) stated that busses set up to take the students to theie hometowns. However, the  transportation costs are very high and the students are obliged to pay their tickets. Students informed about the tickets prices to be doubled in comparison to the prices in the same of the previous year. Students also said that they needed to pay high costs when they were brought back from Cyprus as well.
