HTŞ took back Serakib with the support of Turkey 2020-02-27 10:52:06 IDLIB – HTŞ and afilliated groups backed by Turkey took back Serakib from the regime.    Paramilitary groups like Heyet Tehrir El Şam (HTŞ/El Nusra) which are backed by Turkey have taken possession of Serakib, located at a junction where M5 and M4 highways meets.   Serakib's control had recently passed to the forces of the Syrian Regime, and the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) had accumulated power around the city and built 4 military bases.   The attacks of Turkey and HTŞ were repelled with the air strikes of Russia.   The M-5 highway, which has a strategically critical importance, starts from Aleppo to the southern capital of Damascus. The M-4 highway connects Aleppo to the Mediterranean, and North and East Syria to Damascus.
