Parliament's Presidency turned down the bilingual proposals 2020-02-21 16:25:45 ANKARA- The Parliamentary Presidency turned down the bilingual proposals of HDP deputies written in Arabic, Syriac, Kurmanci and Kirmançkî (Zazakî) dialects of Kurdish together with the Turkish by the HDP deputies regarding World Mother Language Day.  22 deputies from Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) presented bilingual proposals in Kurmanci, Kirmançkî (Zazakî), Arabic and Syriac to the parliement, but the proposal were turned down without any process.   HDP deputies drew attention to the assimilation policies on Kurdish and other languages, and submitted question proposals regarding demands such as the right to education in the mother language, giving Kurdish language legal status and the protection of the languages ​​that face extinction as such.   The deputies whose proposals were rejected are as follows: Alican Önlü, Ayşe Sürücü, Dersim Dağ, Dilan Dirayet Taşdemir, Ebru Günay, Erdal Aydemir, Hasan Özgüneş, Hişyar Özsoy, Hüseyin Kaçmaz, İmam Taşçıer, Meral Danış Beştaş, Muazzez Orhan, Murat Sarısaç, Nuran İmir, Nusrettin Maçin, Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, Ömer Öcalan, Pero Dündar, Remziye Tosun, Şevin Coşkun, Tuma Çelik ve Tülay Hatimoğulları.
