HDP and DBP administrators not released 2020-02-21 13:50:53 MARDİN - HDP and DBP Mardin provincial co-chairmen and 5 HDP PM member politicians were not released in their trial.   The third hearing of the trial, in which the executives of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Mardin Provincial Organization were charged with the accusations of "membership of the organization". HDP Mardin Provincial Co-chair Ali Sincar, DBP Mardin Provincial Co-Chairs Leyla Bozkurt and Şehmuz Sun and HDP Party Assembly (PM) members Alaattin Semir Zuğurli and Sedat Ay were on trial at the Mardin 4th Criminal Court. 5 imprisoned politicians were brought to the court.   'THE INDICTMENT WAS PREPARED TO MAKE UP CRIME'   As in the previous session, the prosecutor demanded the prisoners to be sentenced for "membership in an organization" based on secret witness statements.   The politicians, who made their defenses, disagreed with the allegations imposed on them and stated that the file was prepared to "make up crime". Politicians, who emphasized that the meeting held in Nusaybin was not a confidential meeting and it was about the upcoming local elections of the time. All the imprisoned politicians demanded their release and acquittal.   Then the defense lawyers stated that the meeting mentioned in the file was open to the press as they shared the news and photos of the meeting published in the media with the court. The lawyers demanded all their clients to be released as well as to be acquitted of all the charges they were accused of.   The court decided to continuation of detention for 5 politicians.   The hearing was postponed to 27 March.
