Families of the Group Yorum members: Hear our children! 2020-01-22 11:48:01 İSTANBUL – The families of the members of Grup Yorum, who turned their hunger strikes into death fast, stated that every minute is now vitally important and said: "Our children performed for tens of thousands of people. They must be heard now."   The members of Group Yorum are on hunger strike for 218 days. Their demands are the release of their jailed members, the termination of the arrest warrants of their members and the end of the prohibition of their concerts. İbrahim Gökçek who is being held in Silivri No:9 Closed Prison is on hunger strike for 218 days, Helin Bölek is on hunger strike for 215 days and she turned her hunger strike to a death fast.    İbrahim Gökçek's father Ahmet Gökçek and Helin Bölek's mother Aygül Bilgili who stated that they only want their children to live, have made a call to the public.     'SHE IS WASTING AWAY IN FRONT OF ME'   Helin Bölek's mother Aygül Bilgi said her daughter is now in critical condition. Bilgi, stating that her daughter is wasting away in front of her and she feels this in her bones as a mother, said: "Since my daughter is with me, I can observe all her process. She is in pain because of the inflammation in her nerve endings. That prevents her from sleeping at night. That causes weakness and fatique. She lost a lot of weight. She suffers from nausea, headaches and her sensitivity to light and audors have increased.   'BEHIND BARS'   Bilgi, stating that she is more worried about İbrahim Gökçek because he is behind bars, said: "At least my daughter is out here with me, people who love her is around her all the time. It's easier to ease her pain and keep her morale high. But Gökçek is in there behind bars and he is doing this on his own."   Bilgi calling on to the people, said: "I love my daughter.. I want to listen to those folk songs again from her beautiful voice. I have a call to everyone who says they have humanity in them. Let's do everything we can to keep them alive. I don't know how we can do that but I know everyone have something to do. Let's do something to keep them alive."    'HE HAS BECOME THE ARTIST OF THE PEOPLE'   İbrahim Gökçek's father Ahmet Gökçek said: "I am proud of him. He has become the artist of the people." Father Gökçek who said his son has a visitation ban and because of that he hasn't been able to see him for a month, said he just visited him this week at last and that he said he missed those concerts he performed for thousands of people and that he wants to be on stage again and that feeling keeps him strong."   Father Gökçek reminding that every minute counts after 200 days, said: "We want the people to raise their voices for our children. We all need to do something to keep them alive."
