Allegation that prison administration broke hands and feet of the prisoners 2020-01-21 11:26:05   MARDİN – Mehmet Ali Kayan, a prisoner in Afyonkarahisar Type T Prison told his family that the prison administration broke the hands and feet of the prisoners while torturing them. The prison administration said the ministry must have made a statement on the issue.   Mehmet Ali Kayan (32) who was sentenced tp 11 years and 6 months with the accusation of 'being a member of an illegal organization' in 2015, explained the violations of rights in Afyonkarahisar Type T Prison in his weekly phone call with his family.     Kaya who stated that he was transferred to Afyonkarahisar Prison 10 days ago, said a strip search was imposed on him when he first arrived at the prison. Kayan said the prisoners were being threatened by the guards who says they are the authority in there, said their wards were being raided and they were being tortured when they reacted to these threats. Kayan who stated that his hand was broken and some of his friends had other broken bones, said the guards tied them down and beat their feet.    FATHER KAYAN: WE WOULDN'T KNOW IF THEY KILLED OUR CHILDREN   Mahmut Kayan (61), who defined the allegations as an outrage, said: "We wouldn't know if they killed our children. They have no right to do these things. This is not justice" and called for awareness.   PRISON ADMINISTRATION: MINISTRY MUST HAVE MADE A STATEMENT   A person who answered the phone at the prison, said there were no one authorized personel at that time. When we called for the second time, the same person said: "I don't know what the problem is, but the ministry must have made a statement. The warden is in a meeting right now."
