Police intervention to trustee protest in Suruç 2019-11-16 15:23:03 URFA - Police, intervening to the trustee protest in Suruç, detained scores of people including HDP Provincial Co- Chairs. People's Democratic Party (HDP) made a rally from the district party building to the municipality building protesting the detention of Co- Mayor Hatice Çevik and the appointment of the trustee. Police intervened the group and took scores of people into custody.   Many people from the party were taken into custody including HDP Co-chairs Mikail Gözen and Emine Çetiner, Municipal Councilors Fatma Taş Ekmez, Nahide Kılıç, provincial executive Ferit Tamga. HDP MP Ayşe Sürücü was injured by the police.    The police blockade the Atatürk Square in front of the town hall and the police began to refuse to allow the citizens to stand together.
