
10 months prison sentence to Sur Municipality Co-Mayor

	DİYARBAKIR - Sur Municipality Co-Mayor Filiz Buluttekin was sentenced to 10 months in prison for “propaganda of an organization" because of a speech she made.

	The 4th hearing of the case about Sur Municipality Co-Mayor Filiz Buluttekin was held in Diyarbakır 11th High Criminal Court for a speech she made in Local Women's Conference back in January 2018 when she was HDP Diyarbakır Co-chair.

	&nbsp;

	The court board that decided she committed the crime of 'propagandizing an illegal organization', sentenced Buluttekin to 10 months. &nbsp;Considering that Buluttekin had not been convicted of a crime before, the court adjourned the prison sentence for 5 years and decided to postpone the announcement of the verdict.

	&nbsp;

	Attorney Sertaç Buluttekin said they would appeal after the reasoned decision.
