Release Demirhan who lost his eye for treatment 2019-06-11 11:20:58 ADANA - Family of Bayram Demirhan who lost one of his eyes during the hunger strike he joined in Mardin Type E Closed Prison and has a risk losing the other eye, demanded his relase for his treatment. Bayram Demirhan who ended his hunger strike he started on January 5 against the isolation in İmralı on the call of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan on May 27, faces losing his second eye, after he lost his one eye during the hunger strikes.      Demirhan suffered a 20 percent loss of vision in his right eye due to a traffic accident prior to his arrest, while his illness further increased during the hunger strike. Demirhan was taken to the Mardin State Hospital after the hunger strike was terminated and his right eye had lost sight completely and his left eye had 30 percent vision loss. Demirhan experiences problems with his stomach, intestines and kidneys as well as his eye problems. His family demand his release as soon as possible for him to be treated before he loses his second eye.   Ramazan Demirhan, brother of Bayram Demirhan said his brother told him on the phone on June 10th; "I was taken to the hospital. Doctors told me, ‘The right eye has completely lost sight. There is a vision loss of 30 percent in the left eye. There's nothing that can be done here right now. Your referral to Diyarbakır can take place a week later'.  I wanted to be transferred to Diyarbakir. I'm having trouble seeing with my left eye. They gave me some medicine me. I'm trying to be treated with medicines. ”       HIS KIDNEYS ARE ABOUT TO FAIL     Demirhan who wants his brother to be treated,said:  “His kidneys are about to fail. We want him to be released in this process for a healthier treatment.He has a hearing on June 18 in Mardin. We demand his release at this hearing. We want him to be treated in healthier conditions. He should be released for treatment."
