'The determination of our children and the struggle of the mothers paid off'

	MUŞ - Families of Ergin Akhan and Sait Öztürk who ended their hunger strike after Öcalan's message, said the determination of their children and the struggle of the mothers produced result.

	All prisoners on hunger strike and death fasts have ended their strikes including DTK Co-chair Leyla Güven who was on the 200th day of her hunger strike. The fact that Öcalan's message to end the hunger strikes lead to the prisoners ending the hunger strikes, got the families overwhelmed with happiness.

	 

	Families of Ergin Akhan who was on death fast is Diyarbakır Type D Closed Prison and Sait Öztürk who was on death fast in Van High Security Prison; listened to the message of Öcalan in tears of joy.

	 

	Akhan's mother Aysel Akhan, said they listened to the statement with joy. Mother Akhan who stated that she had a very hard time during the time her son was on a death fast, said: "We got very happy listening to the statement. The determination of our children and the struggle of the mothers wearing white muslins produced these results. We, mothers, are always standing by our children. We will be following up on the treatment process of our children." Mother Akhan who stated that they don't want more deaths, said all they want is peace."

	 

	 

	Mother Çiçek Öztürk who stated that she felt very relieved and happy after the statement, said: "As a mother, I could not eat in that process while my son was hungry.The statement made us very happy. I saw that my son was determined and his morale was high during my visits. They ended the death fast. I want them to be treated correctly."
