Mothers protesting in Parliament want to meet the Minister 2019-05-14 16:33:33 ANKARA - Mothers of prisoners on hunger strikes launched a sit-in in the Parliament. HDP Deputy Group Chairperson Fatma Kurtulan announced that the mothers want to meet with the Minister of Justice regarding the isolation. 21 mothers whose children are on hunger strikes against the isolation imposed upon PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan have launched a sit-in in the Parliament on Tuesday.   The mothers demand an audience with the Minister of Justice and are currently waiting for a response. They say they will continue their sit-in until they get an appointment.   “WE WON’T LEAVE UNTIL WE MEET WITH THE MINISTER”   A police officer told the mothers waiting for a response to their demand to meet with the Minister of Justice in the HDP group’s meeting hall that the Parliament is not a place for protest and asked them to leave. The mothers said they won’t leave until they meet with the Minister.   One of the mothers said, “If you want, you can drag us out. We are used to that.” HDP administrators said they appealed for an appointment and they are waiting for the response.   KURTULAN: THEY ARE WAITING FOR A PROMISE   HDP Deputy Group Chairperson Fatma Kurtulan spoke to the press and said the mothers want to meet with the minister: “The mothers say they want the Minister of Justice to say the lawyers will visit again, that this step will be taken. In this sense, they are waiting for a promise.”
