Mother of a hunger striking prisoner: We must support our children

	ANTEP - Zeynep Kaygusuz, mother of Muhammed Kaygusuz who is on hunger strike for 75 days against isolation and who lost his eye sight substantially, said "I don't care if there is death or imprisonment at the end, our lives are not more valuable then theirs. We must support our children."

	 

	Zeynep Kaygusuz, mother of Muhammed Kaygusuz who joined the hunger strikes on March 1 demanding the termination of the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Öcalan, said his son who is currently being kept in Antep Type H Closed Prison, have lost his eye sight substantially and that he was referred to the hospital in the previous days.

	 

	 

	Kaygusuz who stated that his son did not tell her that he was referred to hospital not to upset her, said: "He lost 10 kilos in 74 days. This silence bothers both us and our children. If they die, we will be responsible. All mothers should stand up. 72 prisoners are on hunger strike in Antep. All the families of the prisoners should unite and support our children. If we don't, no one will. Those are our children and they are in the brink of death. If they risked their lives for this, we have to claim their resistance." 

	 

	 

	Kaygusuz ended her words by saying: "Everybody have shut their eyes and ears to the reality. They should listen to the voice of conscience. We don't have to shed a tear even if our children dies because we are not fighting for them. I told my son when I visited him that we owed them. I don't care if there is death or imprisonment at the end, our lives are not more valuable then theirs. We must support our children. I am calling on to the people to support the children on hunger strike."
