Family of Günana, who is on a hunger strike, calls on the forces of democracy 2019-02-18 11:42:47   İSTANBUL- Fener Günana, sister of Turan Günana who started a hunger strike with the demand of termination of the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan , called on to the forces of democracy, saying: "Isolation is not just the problem of the people imprisoned. It is our problem as well.We need not to stay away from this strike. I am inviting all the forces of democracy to be in solidarity with the hunger strikers to not be too late."   The hunger strike of Democratic Society Congress (DTK)  Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Leyla Güven who is protesting the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is continuing on its 103rd day. The hunger strike of the prisoners in different prisons is continuing as well.   Turan Günana who is being kept at Kandıra No 2 Type F Closed Prison has been on a hunger strike since December 17, is imprisoned for 14 years. Günana also participated in the hunger strikes in 2012 for 59 days and he started a hunger strike with the same demand in December 15, 2018 for 53 days.   Günana who participated in the hunger strike initiated by Leyla Güven is now on a hunger strike for 64 days. Günana's sister Fener Günana stated that her brother is very determined and won't end the hunger strike until the demand is met.   Fener Günana who stated that she spoke with other hunger strikers as well, said: " They are very determined. They stated that they will not end the hunger strike until the demand is met". Günana who called on to the forces of democracy, said: "The prisoners who started this hunger strike did not join the strike for their own freedom. They are doing it for the isolation to end for the people of Turkey.We believe that many problems will draw to a close when the isolation is terminated. I invite everyone who wants peace to be in solidarity with this hunger strike. Isolation is not just the problem of the people imprisoned. It is our problem as well.We need not to stay away from this strike. I am inviting all the forces of democracy to be in solidarity with the hunger strikers to not be too late. The demands of our friends in prisons are our own demands. We will be there with them until the end."
