Soçi visiting Ankara before Soçi Summit 2019-02-11 11:35:53   NEWS DESK- Before the Soçi Summit to be held with the attendance of Putin, Erdoğan and Ruhani, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Şoygu will be arriving to Ankara today.   The fourth summit between the guarantor states of Astana process which are Turkey, Russia and Iran will be held at Soç, Russia on February 14. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Iran President Hasan Ruhani will attend the summit hosted by Russia Chief of State Vladimir Putin.   The summit will focus mainly on the developments in Idlib and the US withdrawal process from Syria.   Sochi agreement was signed between Russia and Turkey on September 17, 2018 and establishing safe zones in İdlib was decided. However, Heyet Tahrir el Şam's taking controll of the tension-reduction zones worried Russia with the passing time.   Russia Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Mariya Zaharova said in their last weekly press release: "We expect our Turkish partners to reactivate their efforts to fulfill their obligations under the Sochi agreement on 17 September 2018, including the termination of the situation in Idlib and the establishment of a disarmed zone."   Again, Russia's Damascus Ambassador  Alexander Yefimov said they expect Turkey to fulfill their obligations according to the İdlib agreement.   Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu will meet with the National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar today as his guest.   It is expected that  the  recent developments in the region will be discussed at the  tripartite summit in Sochi.
