FMI claimed the bullet that killed Kurkut ricocheted from the ground 2018-12-19 12:07:44   DİYARBAKIR- Forensic Medicine Institution (FMI) who prepared a report regarding the death of Kemak Kurkut who was shot by the police, said the bullet have ricocheted from the ground.   The report of FMI regarding Kemal Kurkut's death who was shot by the police Y.Ş in the Newroz Festival in 2017 have arrived at the Diyarbakır 7th Criminal Court.   The FMI report requested by the Diyarbakır Chief Prosecutor's Office alleges that the bullet shot by the police Y.Ş ricocheted from the ground and entered Kurkut's body.   FMı also claimed that the bullet came out of Kurkut's body was not aeligable for balistic examination and was not able to be matched balisticly to the gun of the police officer.   WHAT DİD HAPPEN?   Kemal Kurkut have lost his life during the 2017 Newroz Festival due to a gun shot fired by the police Y.Ş. Diyarbakır Mayor who made a statement afterwards said there was a suspicion of a suicide bomber.   But the day after the shooting, the photographs serviced by Dicle Media News Agency (Dihaber) revealed the truth, and the Diyarbakır Mayor said he was sorry but he made the statement relying on the information given by the police.   After the photos were published the two police in the scene was taken under custody, one of them was released after the deposition to the prosecutor. The police Y.Ş whose gun was identified as the gun firing the shot that killed Kurkut was released on probation. Y.Ş who was dischared in scope of the investigation was reinstated 3 months later.   Diyarbakır Chief Prosecutor's Office prepared the indictment 7 months later, requesting imprisonment for life for Y.Ş but Diyarbakır 7th Criminal Court nolprosed the indictment despite the murder happened right in front of the journalists.   Y.Ş is still not arrested.   The fourth trial for the Kurkut case will be held at Diyarbakır 7th Criminal Court tomorrow .
