Prisoner Hunger Striker Kemal Özelmalı: I will start a death fast 2018-12-08 16:35:37   ADANA-  Wernicke Korsakoff patient Kelam Özelmalı, a prisoner who has been in hunger strike for 73 days, called on for solidarity through his legal guardian and said: “I will start a death fast in the upcoming days, seeing that a hunger strike does not give results.   Wernicke Korsakoff patient Kemal Özelmalı, who is being kept at Adana Kürkçüler Type F Closed Prison even though he has a medical report showing he is not fit to be kept in prison, is getting worse day by day. His legal guardian Ramazan Ceylan who saw him on December 3rd, said his health is deteriorating day by day.   Ceylan told that Özelmalı have said to him: “They are trying to break my will.  They are preparing fake reports to keep me here. I am not in hunger strike because I want to be released, I am doing it because they are keepng me here illegally, despite my medical reports. If my hunger strike does not give results, I will start a death fast.”   Ceylan drawing attention to Özelmalı’s deteriorating health, said: “ He barely recognized me. He is 38-40 kilos. He is repeating words and speaking very low.They brought him with a gurney and took him back the same way.He is not able to meet his basic needs. We don’t want him to leave the prison in a coffin.”
