Mountain Cudi is being massacred

	ŞIRNAK- Silopi Fossil Fuel Plant affiliated with Ciner Group is slaughtering the nature in Mountain Cudi area where they extract asphaltite from with the method open cast mining.

	 

	Ciner group affined with AKP which is operates a fossil fuel plant in Şırnak, Silopi have caused significant destruction to the nature under the name of minning activities. Two towns called Çalışkan (Gite) and Görümlü (Bêspin) which are in the minning area are almost annihilated by the fires caused by military operations.

	 

	THOUSANDS OF TREES ARE CUT

	 

	In these two hills where the mining activities expanded since the end of 2008 , thousands of trees were cut, and significant numberof  species ,mostly mountain goats and pigs are deprived from their living spaces. The local subscontracting of the asphaltite, which is a petroleum origined and coal like mineis being done by people who are known to be affined with AKP.

	 

	MINING FIELD IS EXPANDING

	 

	While the work being done with hundreds of trucks and dippers continues , the fact that the mining area expanding daily attracts attention. The dust caused by the dynamites in the mining area has adverse effects on people's healths living in the surrounding villages.
