Writer and politician İshak Tepe passes away 2025-11-09 15:45:17   AMED - İshak Tepe, writer, politician and father of murdered journalist Ferhat Tepe, has passed away.   İshak Tepe, father of Ferhat Tepe, a correspondent for the Özgür Gündem newspaper in Bedlîs (Bitlis) who was abducted on 28 July 1993 as he left his home and whose body was found in Xarpêt (Elazığ) on 4 August, has passed away. Writer and politician İshak Tepe was one of the pioneers of Kurdish politics and the cultural struggle. Tepe, who had been actively involved in political activities since the 1960s, served in the Democracy Party (DEP) and the People's Democracy Party (HADEP).   Tepe never gave up his fight for justice since the day his son was murdered (32 years ago). Tepe took Ferhat Tepe's case to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), securing Turkey's conviction and bringing the issue of unsolved murders to the international agenda.
