Mahir Polat taken back to prison

	ISTANBUL - Lawyer Erkam Erdem announced on his virtual media account that Mahir Polat was transferred to prison again after the ATK control ended.

	 

	IBB Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, who was arrested on 23 March within the scope of the operation against IBB, has been awaiting release due to health problems. Making a statement yesterday (Sunday, 6 April), Polat's lawyer Erkam Erdem shared Polat's blood pressure readings and said that his life is still in danger.

	 

	Polat had been reffered to hospital several times in the previous days and he was known to be at risk of having a heart attack and cerebral haemorrhage due to hypertension. Polat's lawyers had requested that hs health conddition be examined in a full-fledged hospital, but this request, which was approved by the prosecutor's office about 10 days agoo, was put into action. Polat was transferred to the Forensic Medicine Institution (ATK) in the morning and after the medical examination he was transferred back to Silivri Prison. A decision on Polat's stay in prison will be made in line with the report from the ATK.
