Êzidî intellectuals: they want to complete what ISIS left unfinished in Shengal 2020-10-31 13:23:34 İSTANBUL - Stating that the Shengal Agreement that disregard the will of the Êzidi people was made in line with Turkey's demands, Poet and politician Xebat Şakir said: "They want to complete what ISIS left unfinished and clear shengal of Êzidis."   Reactions to the agreement between the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Iraqi central government on October 9 on Shengal are growing like an avalanche. In this context, 511 Êzidi intellectuals and prominent people from all over the world stated that the agreement did not reflect the will of the Êzidi community, therefore it was unacceptable with the declaration they published on October 25.    Stating that the agreement was signed without asking those who lived and resisted in Shengal, Poet and politician Xebat Şakir said that they will not recognize the agreement made between the two powers that caused the Êzidi massacre.  Underlining that the agreement disregarded the will of the Êzidi people, Şakir said: "They want to complete what ISIS left unfinished and clear shengal of Êzidis. If Êzidi people are being excluded from the agreement, that means there are some games and tricks involved. This situation poses great dangers on the will and existence of the people of Shengal."   TURKEY'S ROLE   Underlining the fact that Turkey's role in the agreement is clear as day, Şakir said: "Turkey is against all gains of Kurds and all democratic and free forces. That's why Turkey is in this game via KDP.Turkey is in action in both Rojava and Başur Kurdistan as the gendermerie of the global capitals. Now it is trying to drag the Kurdish people into a civil war through KDP. A civil war will cost the Kurds a lot and make them lose everything in a period where solution is imminent. This alone is a great danger."   THE MESSAGE GIVEN WITH OCTOBER 9   Pointing to the date of the agreement which is October 9, Şakir said it is no coincidence that this date was chosen for it as it is the day PKK Leader Abdullah ÖCalan was removed from Syria through an international conspiracy. Şakir said: "Their solution is to plunder, destroy, slaughter. This is why October 9 was chosen. What hurts us more is that they use Kurdish forces as a pawn for this. They are being instrumental in their own demise as well as the people of Kurdistan. Kurdish people have no interest in the massacre of the Êzidî people. None. Kurdistan is a garden. Êzidîs are a rose in this garden. Destroying Êzidîs is destroying the foundation of Kurdistan. Today it is the Êzidî, tomorrow its Bakur, it will be Rojhilat the other day and then it is your turn. If we won't unite we will go through much worse than we already have. It is not too late."   FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE ŞÊX ADÎ   Stating that they will not accept any agreement the Êzidîs are not included, Şakir said: "We Êzidîs, we are a society that knows themselves. We have our will, our own power and organization. We will not let them take us backwards. Such games should not be played on people who rushed to the aid of the people of Shengal, gave hundreds of martyrs, made the people strong, organized against new massacres, and created a new organization a thousand years later, for the first time since Şêx Adi. They want to neutralize this power. No matter what agreement will be made, the Êzidîs must be in it. Let people live in peace and self-governance. Our aim is peace, dialogue, unity."
