Police: Identify Leyla Güven and the prosecutor will help you 2020-10-28 12:37:29   DİYARBAKIR – Evindar Oruç, an open witness who testified against DTK Co-Chair Leyla Güven said: "They told me the prosecutor would help me if I identified Leyla Güven. So I signed the identification report for them to help me."   The 12th hearing of the case filed against Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-Chair Leyla Güven where she is accused of managing a terrorist organization was held at Diyarbakır 9th High Criminal Court. Güven did not attend the hearing while her attorney was present. Evindar Oruç attended the hearing via Audio and Video Information System (SEGBİS).   'I WANTED THE INTERROGATION TO BE OVER'   Oruç said that he knew Leyla Güven as a member of parliament, did not know her privately, did not know if she had any connections with the PKK and that she had no contact with him. Stating that he was injured in Syria, Oruç said: "I was injured in Syria. Then I came to Turkey. I was seriously injured. I was bedridden for two or three months. A women named Leyla took care of me. Took me to the hospital. But it wasn't Leyla Güven. They took me to Istanbul. I was interrogated for 10 hours. I just wanted it to be over. I told them the women who took me to the hospital looked like Leyla Güven and she was around the same age. The police told me if I identified Leyla Güven the prosecutor would help me. So I signed the identification report. I am clearly telling that the women who took me to the hospital in İstanbul was not Leyla Güven.   The prosecutor requested that they have nothing to say to the documents and the witness statements received, he also requested the continuation of the judicial control measure against the defendant.   Leyla Güven's lawyers, on the other hand, demanded that they do not accept the adverse issues and that the ongoing judicial control measure be lifted because Güven's brother has colon cancer.   After the short break given by the court committee, it decided to continue the judicial control measure in order to ensure that Leyla Güven is present in the proceedings.   The court board adjourned the hearing to 18 November.
