Warrant issued for journalist Ekinci 2020-10-28 12:21:17 DİYARBAKIR -  A law suit was filed against journalist Burhan Ekinci with the accusation of 'propagandizing a terrorist organization'. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Ekinci, who is currently in Germany.   The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor prepared an indictment against journalist Burhan Ekinci on the grounds that he 'propagandized a terrorist organization' via his social media account. While the indictment was accepted by the Istanbul 30th High Criminal Court, an arrest warrant was issued for Ekinci, who lives in Germany.   Ekinci shared some words of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan who spoke to his lawyers on July 8, 2019, which was included in the idictment as an evidence.   Also, a photograph of some civillians Ekinci took at the Kobané border while ISIS was attacking Kobané and a note he wrote saying, "Historical Kobané resistance. It is not forgotton. It will never be forgotton. Everyone saw the resistance of those beautiful young people. A photo I took at the border.. #1KasımDünyaKobanêGünü" was included in the idictment as an evidence.   The prosecutor's office, who was unable to reach Ekinci, who lives in Germany, requested his arrest, accusing of propagandizing a terrorist organization.   Stating that the law suit is a result of intolerance to freedom of thought and expression, Ekinci said: "They are trying to turn us into 3 monkeys working for the palace. The palace has enough monkeys. We will never be the monkeys of the palace. We will be the pens of the truth. We will continue to do our job under any circumstances. Nothing I wrote is a crime. If it is a crime for the prosecutor and the turkish penal system, I will continue to commit this crime."
