Police detain BDP former MP Binici and HDP member Bağcık 2020-10-27 13:20:22 ANKARA - BDP former deputy Ibrahim Binici and HDP Party Council member Mesut Bağcık were detained within the scope of the "Kobanê investigation".   Following home raids in Ankara this morning, former MP Ibrahim Binici of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) was taken into custody.   Police searched Binici's house and seized books and materials which had been previously seized by the police and then returned to the family. A 24-hour lawyer restriction was imposed on the former MP.   HDP PARTY COUNCIL MEMBER BAĞCIK DETAINED   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Party Assembly member Mesut Bağcık was also taken into custody in his home in the central neighbourhood of Bağlar in Amed this morning. After the search, Bağcık was taken to Diyarbakır Provincial Security Directorate.   Learning that he was detained within the scope of the "Kobanê investigation" launched by Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Bağcık was taken to Ankara by plane after procedures at the police station were completed.   FIVE MORE PEOPLE ON THE LIST   In the statement made by the Ankara Police Department regarding the detentions, it was stated that within the scope of the "Kobanê investigation", 8 arrest warrants were issued and so far 3 people were taken into custody.   Within the scope of the investigation, house raids were made in Ankara, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır and Batman.
