
Digital materials confiscated in the Özgür Gündem raid are lost!

	İSTANBUL - In the case regarding the raid on Özgür Gündem Newspaper, the court board decided that the confiscated digital materials could not be given to their owners because they are lost in evidence room.

	&nbsp;

	The 7th hearing of the trial against 22 journalists detained during the police raid on Özgür Gündem Newspaper, which was closed with a Decree Law (KHK) issued under the State of Emergency (OHAL) was held in Istanbul 5th Criminal Court of First Instance in Çağlayan. Journalists tried without arrest did not attend the hearing, but their lawyers were present.

	&nbsp;

	Lawyers demanded that the whereabouts of the lost digital material to be investigated and returned to the journalists.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	The court ruled that the confiscated digital materials could not be handed over to their owners, as they are lost.Deciding to remedy the missing issues in the file, the delegation postponed the hearing to 16 February 2021.
