ECtHR accepts the application for Hesekê water 2020-09-24 16:00:02 NEWS CENTER - ECtHR accepted the application against Turkey after a 7 year old child got sick because there is no access to clean drinking water.   Almost a million people living in the area in North and East Syria can not access water because Turkey have blocked the water going to Haseké. Citizens are facing a lot of difficulties especially with the Coronavirus (Covid- 19) outbreak.   Hawar News Agency (ANHA) announced that the application filed by Ferhad Hac Derwîş in Hesekê whose child got sick because of the water, was accepted.   Family lawyer Sêve Îzolî stated that European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) accepted the application due to the coronavirus outbreak and the defendant is not a Turkish citizen.   The acceptance of the application, which is a first, may pave the way for legal applications regarding violations of rights in the region.
