Lawyers of Şiban and Turgut: Governorate is clueless about the case 2020-09-22 13:38:39   VAN - Family lawyers reacting to the statement of the governorate about Servet Turgut and Osman Şiban who told that they fell down a rock while they were running away, said the governorate is clueless about the case.   The house of Osman Şiban (50), the father of 8 children, who turned up at the intensive care unit of a hospital, tortured, after being detained by the soldiers was raided early this morning and he was forcibly taken to a military hospital.  It was stated that the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested a report from the hospital authorities on whether to take Şiban's statement.   Lawyers of the two families spoke to our agency and said: "The unit that victimized our clients is the gendermerie but our clients were taken to a military hospital regardless of this fact. This will be traumatising for our client and he will be further victimized. The prosecutor office wants to take his statement even though our client is not in a position to give a statement. We will appeal to this decision. The latest doctor's report clearly states that our client is not conscious and he is not able to recognize people or understand time and space. Taking his statement now is not legal."   'THE STATEMENT OF THE GOVERNORATE IS CRUEL'   The family lawyers reacted to the statement made by the governorate, stating that the two men fell off a rock while they were running away from the gendermerie, and told: "The governorate is clueless about the case. Making a statement like that is cruel. All the witnesses says that these two men went with the gendermerie without resisting and they were forced into a helicopter. The statement of the governorate contradicts all the data we have."
