Prison sentence requested for Journalist Temizkan 2020-09-22 12:37:13 İSTANBUL - Giving his opinion on the law suit filed against journalist Sabiha Temizkan on grounds of her social media activity, the prosecutor requested prison sentence for Temizkan.   The second hearing of the lawsuit filed against journalist Sabiha Temizkan in 2014 for 'propagandizing a terrorist organization' was held at the Istanbul 35th High Criminal Court in Çağlayan. Temizkan and his lawyer were present at the hearing. Speaking at the hearing, Temizkan said, it was in fact her that tweeted the tweet in question but she can not remember what it was considering the time passed since. Temizkan stated that she copy pasted a paragraph from a news article but didn't share the link to that news.    Temizkan's lawyer, Veysel Ok, stated that his client's post was not a crime and demanded her acquittal.    Giving his opinion, the prosecutor requested prison sentence for Temizkan on charges of 'propagandizing a terrorist organization via press'    The court board adjourned the hearing to 15 October, giving time for the preparation of the merits.
