Hrant Dink trial posponed: Rejection to summon the intelliengence to the court 2020-07-09 17:55:53   İSTANBUL - The hearing of the case on the murder of the editor-in-chief of Agos newspaper Hrant Dink is postponed.   The hearing of the case filed against the public officers accused of negligence in the murder of the editor-in-chief of Agos newspaper Hrant Dink is postponed. The demands of the lawyers and the testimonies of the witnesse has been heard on third day of the hearing in the Çağlayan 14th Heavy Penal Court in İstanbul.   The court rejected to summon the intelligence officers to the court. Dink family lawyer Hakan Bakırcıoğlu stated the significance of calling the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) officers to appear in court who had a talk with Hrant Dink in the İstanbul Governor's Office back in 2004 and renewed his demand from the court to summon the intelligence officer to appear in court.   The court has ruled the continuation of detention of the arrested defendants Ramazan Akyürek, Ali Fuat Yılmazer, Muharrem Demirkale and Ercan Gün, and has reiterated its decision that intelligence officials who attended the 2004 meeting with Dink did not need to be summoned to the court as witnesses. Court also ruled that MİT İstanbul Regional Manager Ahmet Köksoy can be summoned as witness if MIT permits.   The trial is postponed to the September 16.
