Kurdish politicians: All steps towards the national unity 2020-07-09 11:11:53   DİYARBAKIR - HDP Diyarbakır Provincial Co-Chairs Hülya Alökmen Uyanık and Zeyyat Ceylan stated that the attacks on Kurds in Turkey have increased following the attempts of Kurdish unity saying, "From now on Kurds should take all their steps towards the unity."   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır Provincial Co-Chairs Hülya Alökmen Uyanık and Zeyyat Ceylan shared their evaluations on the increasing attacks on Kurds and Kurdish political activists in Turkey recently.   'ATTACKS HAVE BEEN INTENSIFIED'   Emphasizing that the attacks on Kurdish people have been intensified following the attempts of the Kurds on national unity Ceylan said, "The existence and the rights of Kurdish people, who suffered massacres have been denied over a century. Kurds have to defend themselves against these attacks."   'COLONIALISTS ARE UNCOMFORTABLE'   Caylan thinks that it is the colonialist powers, who attacks Kurds, because they do not like the idea of Kurdish national unity and they do not want to lose their control on them. "While the Kurds demand their national unity, they do not want hostility against Persian ot Arab people. The Kurds now know very well that if they cannot achieve their own unity, if they are not strong enough, they cannot make peace with the Turks, Arabs and Persians," said Ceylan and added, "The Kurds' desire for unity is that they want to exist with their collective will. The unity and solidarity of the Kurds does not serve fascism and a cruel system." Ceylan then raised the question, "Who is uncomfortable with this idea?" She knows the answer: "Those against Kurds are uncomfortable. Those colonialists who exploited the Kurdish people are uncomfortable."   "From now on Kurdish people should take all their steps towards the unity. All steps should serve to the unity. Kurds must discover all the ways for dialogue. This is the day to unite," said Ceylan.   ‘UNITY TO GAIN A STATUS IN THE MIDDLE EAST’   The other Co-Chair of the HDP's Provincial party organization Uyanık said, "The Kurds had not been able to achieve their national unity for various reasons until today, but at this point the national unity remains essential. If the attacks are to be prevented and Kurds want to gain a status in the Middle East, they must emerge as a collective will by strengthening their national unity. Not only the political parties, but also the people should seriously support this cause. In other words, pressure should be created for unity from the bottom of the society to the top. Everyone shall work for national unity to stop these attacks."   MA / Ergin Çağlar
