Letter from Leyla Güven to the European Leaders 2020-07-03 12:36:07   DİYARBAKIR - Democratic Society Congress Co-Chair Leyla Güven sent a letter to the prominent European party leaders to draw attention to the ever-increasing authoritarianism in Turkey.   Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-Chair Leyla Güven wrote a letter to the party leaders and representatives of some institutions in Europe in order to Ddraw attention to the sealing of DTK office in Diyarbakır, after police raid, 43 people who were detained and the increasing tendencies towards a more authoritarian regime in Turkey.    POINTED OUT THE OPPRESSION   Güven pointed out "the destruction on the relationship between Turkey and Europe as well the Middle Eastern countries caused by the attempts of the government, which shows more tendencies towards authoritarianism in order to close down and criminalize the DTK.   THE ADDRESSEES OF THE LETTER   Among the addressees of the letter, there are President of the European Parliament David Sassoli, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, EU High Representative Josep Borrell, Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Buric, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Rik Daems, PACE Group Heads, EP Group leaders, European Council as well as the representatives of the institutions that Turkey is also a part of such as United Nations' Human Right Representatives and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
